I was up at 4 AM, had coffee and started moving ceiling light in back apartment. Had to get in the ceiling to pull some wires.

At 10 AM I had to take cart to local Mitsubishi dealer to look at the check engine light. Now I'm just working on the blog while I wait to find out what's going on. After about only 20 min. they came out and told me, it was just a loose gas cap. Newer cars may be a lot more dependable, but they sure are sensitive.

Back home, I got ice shield on the back roof and also installed the living room and back porch lights.

Had a short drizzly rain about noon, the rest of the day it was in the 80s and steamy.

Up at 6 AM and fed Pippi, because she was inside, and by the time I had coffee going, the rest, including, Button were banging on the door to come in.
They know bad weather is coming, and they are starting to hang around a lot more.

Button, for those not up on the group, is mom to most of the crew and has always been pretty feral, just coming around now and then for food. Lately she's been hanging around, even relaxing on the deck, so I suspect she has lost a food source somewhere in the neighborhood and may be looking for new winter quarters.
Of course, this all thrills Gina, as there is always room for more kids around the house. I'm just glad they all have 4 legs, and don't need clothing, or ride to school.

I headed down the Springfield today, to work on the rental some more. I really get tired of it, mostly because I have books to write and a nice deck to spend my days on. I'm thinking about selling it off cheap, just get rid of it.

I munched on snacks all the way down, and a rotisserie chicken for dinner. I got down here about 4 PM, unpacked and vegged out the rest of the day.

Up at 5 AM and Gina is heading off to work at Pet Fix for the day, as I relax on the deck and get caught up on the blogs. It's cool and 50° on the deck, and this morning I barely hung onto 187 lbs. on scale, but this could be the week I finally drop below 185.

I spent most of the day up and down a ladder installing ice bars and a new gutter on Bernie's store. Roofers didn't bother when they put the new metal roof on, and ice took off the gutter last winter.
That's a helpful hint for everyone out there. Most roofers will only install ice guards near entrances, but they should go completely long all leaves. Metal looks cool, but it's slippery, and when the sun comes out, large sections of ice and snow can easily slide off . Not just landing on you like skit in a movie, but also taking down gutters, awnings, and even dangerous things like gas meters.

Anyway, all the exercise was nice, but it only canceled out the snacks I pretty much ate the whole time I was at Bernie's, so Diet 1 held stable at 187 for another day.

Breakfast – 2 eggs, rye toast, 2 sausage patties

Dinner – 3 small slices of pizza
Snacks – pretzels, Peanuts

I'm up at 6 AM and feeling perky. Nuked some leftover coffee, fed the cats, and unloaded the car. Now it's 7 AM and I'm back on the deck enjoying a cool overcast morning, catching up on several days of the Diet 1 blog.

I'm up a pound since Friday, but pretty good considering the pig out of last Thursday, and the constant snacking since.

Today was a day of rest and relaxation after the week's marathon, getting ready for the show. We started out with breakfast in PA Pymatuning Lake, then got in a good long walk around Greenville, PA.
We got home around noon, and just vegged out. I took a long nap in the afternoon, then we had a nice walk into town as the sunset. The 2 long walks today helped compensate for the snacking, and my weight remained stable.

I was in bed at 10 PM.

Yep, it's day 300 on Diet 1

Up at 3:30 AM, made coffee, fed cats, and were out the door before 4.
Sorry, but I forgot to hit the scales this morning.

We missed an exit in Youngstown, and took a more scenic route to Beaver. Of course, in the dark, there isn't much scenery. We got there about 5:45 and were the 1st ones on the scene, so we relaxed and waited for the promoters to come in and open up.

There was a screw up on registrations at the last minute, and I got stuck outside the tent. Traffic sucked, but I was in the fresh air under a tree, and did get in a nice nap about noon.

I did sell some books, had some nice chats with the locals, at 4 we packed up and headed home. I would've liked to stay for the dinner party afterward, but Gina wasn't feeling well and wanted to get home. I don't think she's much of a show person.

We stopped for ice cream on the way back, as her knee was bothering her quite a bit, and finished the last 20 miles driving through a thunderstorm. Luckily it eased up a bit by the time we got in the driveway. By then the sugar from the ice cream, the heat of the day, and the lack of sleep the night before, took over and I pretty much slept till morning, only getting up once to go from the couch to the bed.

Up at 6:30 AM and gearing up for the show tomorrow. As always, I'm down to the wire, deciding which of my last-minute projects I can actually finished day. Tomorrow morning, we leave at 4 AM for Beaver, PA, and everything has to be packed up and done before I go to bed tonight.

For a change, I got a days work done in one day. I cut out and painted both table displays, and got most of what I needed printed, done. I also helped Gina on a few last-minute touch ups on her booth.
And even managed to get in one walk in the morning.

Up at 5 AM, went to bed at 10 last night, slept restlessly. A trick to lose a couple pounds overnight. Busy thinking about the show on Saturday and the VA weigh in today.

Well, I didn't drop much since the last weigh in 2 weeks ago, but it is a new low for Diet 1. Considering all the picnics, parties and Labor Day fun in the last 2 weeks, going down ½ pound is pretty damn good.

Of course, to celebrate, as many of us eaters do, I ate too much for one day. But the guilt of Diet 1 kept me from really pigging out.

Now, as we start moving into fall, the goal will be to fight that annual urge to pack on calories for the winter, a natural instinct most of us really don't need anymore. Like eating 3 doughnuts at my writers group.

I did get in a morning walk before the rain hit, and also got the front of my table cover done.
