Day 89 Friday

steps 10579
water 4
weight 195 / 203.3 on the VA scale

I'm still stuck at that 195 lbs. limit on the scale. Meaning that whatever I'm doing with Died 1 is stabilizing my weight. To move lower, I need to change something. I need to make another step to lower calorie intake, like less snacks at night or lower calories in what I have for meals.
It might be time to finally start checking calorie counts on packages.

Or I can start burning more calories. That means real work. It means spending less time on my ass and more time actually doing something that raises my metabolism.

Since it's cold and snowing outside, getting more work done around the house would be a good idea. Up and down the stairs, moving wood and such, would get the blood moving again, and crank up the step count.

Day 90 Saturday

02/13/2016
steps 3388
water 4
weight 195

Well it's cold out today 6 degrees this morning. Any walking I do today will be indoors.
Well, today is also day 90, the end of the first quarter of my 12 month, Diet 1 challenge and reverse 60 years of habits.

And just how are we doing after the first 3 months?
Well several of the new eating habits are slowly starting to take hold, like smaller portions and taking more time chewing my food.
I very seldom grab seconds anymore, and I eat fast food like McDonald's once a day at the most. That made not see much to you, but for the last 30 years, most of my meals of have either been fast food or restaurants. Getting that down to one meal a day is pretty damn good, if you ask me.
I'm eating a lot more veggies than I used to, and my breakfast usually includes a high fiber cereal with bananas and almond milk.

As far as weight goes, looking down, I don't see much of a change, but I have dropped 9 lbs. since I started. For me, I probably won't see much of a difference until I hit that 170 mark.

Also, I'm slowly increasing the amount of steps I take every day, averaging 6 or 7000, even this time a year when it's a pain in the ass to go outside and walk. Today's the first day under 6000 steps in a week.

So tomorrow I start the second quarter of this challenge, as I keep working on slow, incremental improvements, and habits that will hang on long after I finally stop my Diet 1 program.
